Choosing an IATA-compliant crate
May 22, 2026
The crate is where comfort and compliance meet. Airlines follow IATA Live Animals Regulations, and an undersized or weak crate can stop a booking at check-in.
Sizing basics
Your pet should be able to stand, turn around, and lie down naturally. Measure height at the ears or crown, then choose a crate that clears it with room to spare.
Look for a hard shell, ventilation on all four sides for many routes, a leak-proof floor, and metal door hardware. We confirm the right crate for each animal and route before travel so check-in stays smooth.
