Heading to Kuala Lumpur or Penang, or leaving Malaysia for a new country? We coordinate the import permit, export papers and flights, and check early whether your destination is in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak.
Your pet's origin or final destination must be Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore or Vietnam. Transit alone does not qualify. As long as Malaysia is the origin or final destination, the other country can be anywhere.

What a Malaysia move usually involves
This overview helps you prepare before you speak to a coordinator. The final checklist is built for your route, airline and pet.
Moving to Malaysia
Dogs and cats entering Malaysia need an import permit from the Department of Veterinary Services, issued before the pet travels.
Import permit from the Department of Veterinary Services.
Microchip, rabies vaccination and other vaccination records, checked against the destination's timing rules.
A veterinary health certificate issued close to departure and endorsed by the exporting country's authority.
Sabah and Sarawak apply their own veterinary rules, separate from Peninsular Malaysia.
Moving from Malaysia
Pets leaving Malaysia need export documents from the veterinary services department and must meet the destination's import conditions.
Export permit and health certificate from the veterinary services department.
Some destinations ask for a rabies antibody (titer) test and a waiting period, which can add several months.
Destination import permit, where required.
Airline booking as cabin, checked baggage or cargo, depending on the airline, route and pet size.
What most often changes the plan
Malaysia restricts some dog breeds, and Sabah and Sarawak have separate rules. Tell us the breed and final city before anything is booked.
Send the origin, final destination, target month and your pet's profile. We confirm the route is in scope and map the Malaysia requirements for your direction of travel.
Step 2
Document sequence
We order the microchip, vaccinations, any testing, health certificate and permits so everything is still valid on the flight date.
Step 3
Airline & flight
We check which airlines accept your pet on this route, as cabin, checked baggage or cargo, then lock the date.
Step 4
Arrival
Our partners coordinate the quarantine inspection, customs and handover at the destination.
Malaysia restricts certain breeds. Send us the breed and, if it is a mix, the pet's records, and we will check before you plan the move.
Is moving to Sabah or Sarawak different from Kuala Lumpur?+
Yes. East Malaysia applies its own veterinary rules, so the permit and timing can differ. We plan around your final city, not only the country.
Which routes do you cover?+
We coordinate moves where the pet's origin or final destination is Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore or Vietnam. The other country can be anywhere, subject to route availability. A transit stop in one of these countries does not qualify on its own.
What do I need to send for a quote?+
The origin and final destination, your target month, the pet's species, breed, age and weight, and any microchip and vaccination records you already have. That is enough for a first route check.
Tell us about your pet’s move
Share your route, pet details and target date. We’ll check travel options and the information needed to prepare a quote.
